بسم اللہ الرحمٰنِ الرحیم
Is the
passion for God in man a matter of choice or compulsion? It's a difficult
question to answer. A father governs his children, a teacher guides his
students, and a ruler leads his people, each with a different nature. However,
they share a common value: maintaining discipline. When a ruler combines the
love of a father and the compassion of a teacher to uphold order in the
government, God's revenge becomes less of a concern. The ruler experiences
peace during the day and sleeps soundly at night. A sense of responsibility
compels them to shoulder the burdens of the needy. Such governance is a form of
worship. On the other hand, if governance is solely driven by a desire for
display, comfort, power, and wealth, it becomes mere politics. This kind of
politics undermines social equality and economic justice, resulting in social
unrest, corruption, and hypocrisy.
A state can become a nurturing mother only when the ruler's
heart is filled with affection for every member of their people. Therefore, the
ruler's heart should be broad, and their mind open, enabling them to create
plans that meet the present and future needs of the people, taking into account
the prevailing circumstances. Every individual should have equal opportunities
and an environment conducive to expressing their abilities, thereby
contributing to the development and progress of society.
In modern times, politics and governance have become synonymous
with Machiavellian thinking. Great leadership is often associated with cunning
manipulation, and those lacking the ability to deceive with false promises
seldom ascend to positions of power. This situation has given rise to a race of
lies, deceit, greed, and the pursuit of personal wealth and fame in politics,
with no end in sight. Politicians prioritize personal interests at the expense
of the country and its people, resulting in increased suffering and misery for
the population. Therefore, it is crucial to transform the current political
mindset and change the intellectual and practical aspects of individuals
involved in politics, adopting a style of governance similar to the principles
of Khilafat-e-Rashida. This way, a government that genuinely serves the people
and is truly human-friendly can be established on Earth.
