بسم اللہ الرحمٰنِ الرحیم
It is universally acknowledged
that humans are social beings. Living together is a necessity for them because
their needs are so diverse that no individual can fulfill them all on their
own. They rely on others, and the principle of reciprocity plays a significant
role in meeting their needs. However, the wheel of time sometimes turns in a
way that the same person who used to provide becomes a recipient. In such
cases, if the household, family, tribe, neighborhood, and society fail to provide
support, it becomes the responsibility of the state to step in. Unfortunately,
many states today prioritize exploitation rather than welfare. Consequently,
certain institutions emerge within states to serve as shelters for the sick,
helpless, and indigent individuals who are victims of the absence of home,
family, clan, and government support. These welfare institutions are the
benevolent pillars of society.
Welfare
institutions operate with the assistance of philanthropists and government
support. With the acceleration of globalization and advancements in technology
that have turned the world into a global village, welfare systems across the
globe have become more interconnected. When natural disasters occur, relief
teams and welfare organizations from all over the world mobilize to minimize
the damage caused and expedite the recovery process, restoring the pace of
life. Their significance has multiplied in this interconnected world. The
annual budgets of some major welfare organizations even surpass the budgets of
many impoverished countries. These institutions provide essential aid and
contracts to poor countries, making governments dependent on their assistance.
Consequently, they acquire the ability to influence governments.
